Baby Beds
When a couple is planning on a new baby, there may be some adjustments that must be made to get the space required for the baby ready. Depending on the size of space that you have for your newborn, you will find that there are many types of baby bed furniture and bedding available that will meet your needs.
A couple who live in a small space, or want to keep their newborn in their room with them may find that one of the beautiful styles of furniture that are designed specifically for small spaces. Two designs that have multiple styles available are the Moses Basket and the bassinet.
Moses baskets are great for busy working moms who are going to take their newborn to work with them. The basket is normally made out of a soft weave bamboo that is fabric lined. The basket has a wonderful foam mattress with a washable bumper that keeps your baby secure. It is very easy to carry with sturdy handles. On some of the designs the handles are formed by a single braid that is secured to the basket. When you are going to be walking with your newborn in the basket, some models have a hood that attaches to the basket easily. When you are home, there is a stand that holds the basket securely in place. The stand is made of hardwood and some of the models have a mechanism that rocks the basket while it is in the stand. The basket is designed to accommodate a newborn until they roll over.
Another space saving and mobile baby bed is the bassinet. When selecting a bassinet, you will have multiple choices. Some of the models have locking casters that allow you to easily roll the bassinet to whichever room you are occupying. The beds are made from wicker or a wicker-like material that is easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Most of the bassinets have a hood and foam mattress that keeps baby comfortable. Many of the bassinets also convert to a rocking position so that you can rock the baby from any chair, sofa, or bed easily. The designer baby bedding that is made for the bassinets often match the fabric trim that surrounds the bassinets. The styles can be very elaborate with matching skirts, bumpers, and bows.
Also made for babies from newborn to when they roll over is the traditional and beautiful cradle. Cradles are wonderful for several reasons. They are small enough to fit in a tight space and provide a wonderful smooth rocking motion. The baby can see out of the cradle and be a part of the activities that are going on around them. When you are selecting designer crib bedding for a cradle, it is made to fit the waterproof pad tightly and snugly. There is no danger of baby getting caught up in extra fabric. The sets also come with a bumper and lightweight blanket that matches the theme that you have chosen.
There are many different styles and designs of cribs made when you baby rolls over and is ready for a larger sleeping space. Among the styles are the standard crib, convertible crib which will grow with the baby. These cribs are normally bought in the 2-in-1 which converts to a toddler bed, but a 4-in-1 converts to a twin size bed for a teen. The canopy and round cribs are beautiful and often ornate. These cribs require special designer crib bedding to assure that the bedding fits the crib mattress perfectly.
